An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Information Modelling (BIM) Lead to join the Rolls-Royce Submarines Infrastructure business in Derby. This role is vital in driving our digital transformation agenda and ensuring BIM standards are effectively implemented across all construction projects. You’ll be at the forefront of unique, complex infrastructure projects, shaping the future of our estate’s digital twin and leading our BIM strategy.

This role sits within the Rolls-Royce Submarines Infrastructure business unit, specifically the Building Information Modelling Team, who are accountable for implementing the BIM Process across the Raynesway estate in line with BS EN ISO 19650 Standards and the UK BIM Framework. You will be joining a growing digital-first team delivering estate-wide transformation projects. What you will be doing: With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Act as the client-side intermediary between designers, supply chain partners and architects on BIM projects.
  • Lead a team of BIM Coordinators and ensure adherence to information exchange processes.
  • Own and manage our cloud-based Common Data Environment (CDE) and Asset Information Model (AIM).
  • Develop, manage and maintain BIM protocols, Execution Plans and project-specific documentation.

  • Have experience in data delivery for assets using COBie and in setting up CDEs and workflows.
  • Be competent in platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Recap, Solibri and Glider BIM.
  • Show awareness of digital asset data, including 4D–6D modelling and wider digital construction technologies.
  • Ideally have experience working on nuclear construction projects and/or obtaining ISO 19650 accreditation.
