As a Sociology Teacher, your responsibilities typically include more than just marking and planning, although those are important aspects of the role. Here are some key responsibilities you would typically have:

The successful candidate for Sociology Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (ideally PGCE, GTP, BEd, Cert Ed, BA with QTS) in Sociology or a related field.
  • Prior experience teaching Sociology to secondary school students.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods in sociology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • DBS on Updated Service.
