We are looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety / HSE Specialist with a manufacturing background to join our multinational company based in West Yorkshire. The HSE Manager will drive a safe work environment, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage various EHS aspects, including health and safety, wellbeing, legislative compliance, environmental management, fire and security, risk management, and auditing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety: Promoting a culture of health and safety awareness through communication, employee engagement, and programs. Ensuring plant management understands safety interdependencies and health costs. Developing policies for a safe work environment. Educating employees on ergonomics and fostering an ergonomic culture. Managing environmental risks to safeguard workforce well-being. Conducting incident investigations. Providing health and safety inductions for new employees. Creating programs to reduce accidents and illnesses. Collaborating on wellness programs. Managing the gym facility, including inductions and operations.
- Legislative Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Implementing training on safety, hygiene, emergency planning, and hazardous materials. Managing environmental compliance and waste management practices.
- Plant Awareness: Adhering to and promoting policies related to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment.
- Reporting: Managing KPIs, developing improvement plans, and preparing reports. Leading safety meetings and conducting regular compliance reports.
