TNS has an excellent opportunity for an experienced IP Network Engineer to design, install, and optimize Global IP Network Infrastructure across multiple geographic backbone locations. Specific roles, responsibilities, and expectations include: High-Level Design Concept Creation Low-Level Design Specification Development Network Delivery and Turn-Up Operational Network Design Review and Optimization Network Design Standards Development As a contributing member of the Global Network Infrastructure Delivery team, this position will focus on providing advanced technical support and documentation in all areas of Global Network Design and Delivery. It will also be responsible for supporting other TNS network infrastructure and customer-facing services as required. Responsibilities Key contributor; your work will be critical to project success Influence at the customer management level Resolve highly technical, complex problems Consult on other projects Engineering, deployment, and support of the TNS Global IP backbone network Delivery of Ethernet-based services as defined by the Metro Ethernet Forum Routing protocol design and support (BGP, ISIS, EIGRP, OSPF, PIM) WAN/LAN topology design and support MPLS design and support Data Center design and support Load Balancer design and support Vendor/hardware assessment and recommendations Equipment/Design specifications for budget planning Identify issues and recommend solutions Provide guidance and transfer knowledge to team members Qualifications 7+ years of design and operations experience in large-scale multiprotocol global IP/ISP networks 5+ years of expertise in TCP/IP and routing protocols (RSVP, LDP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, PIM, BFD, Fast Reroute) 3+ years of experience with MPLS networks and services (Traffic Engineering, Carrier Ethernet, VPNs, VPLS, Circuit Emulation, IPSec, IP Multicast, QOS/COS) 5+ years of experience in layer-2 Ethernet technologies 3+ years of knowledge in Data Center design and operation Expertise in WAN technologies (SONET, SDH, TDM, Metro Ethernet) 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper networks Proficiency with command-line interfaces and network analysis tools (SolarWinds, SPLUNK) Certifications in Cisco and Juniper technologies Optional Desired Qualifications IP Multicast Experience with Service Provider Juniper and Cisco routers/switches Server Load-Balancing UNIX/Linux experience Traffic Generator experience Project Management experience PERL and XML management skills If you are passionate about technology and personal growth, come see what TNS is all about!
