We are looking for a Quality Manager to manage the quality team at our Blackpool site, ensuring that all products manufactured, are safe and legal and meet all agreed internal and external specifications.

This role will support the Technical Manager throughout the site, supporting the operations team to develop robust corrective action plans for quality improvements.

Main Responsibilities

  • To ensure compliance to BRC standards and all other customer and partnership codes of practice and specifications To participate in bakery visits and audits To manage and lead the Quality Team To maintain and amend as required the site quality procedures /SOP aligned with the Quality Systems Manager To be customer front facing as required either through audit or specific meetings To develop a quality culture throughout the manufacturing site by supporting the Technical Manager and site team to continuously improve against standards To support the delivery of site Technical KPIs To develop robust corrective action plans to ensure any consumer or customer dissatisfaction is addressed Undertaking of investigations on any internal incidents that have led to out of specification product leaving site control, main co-ordinator of recall system and co-ordination of such* To maintain a robust auditing programme that continues to meet the requirements set

by all audit bodies

  • Have experience managing a quality team within a food manufacturing facility with the ability to drive and motivate the team The ability to identify training needs and development needs within the quality function inclusive of discipline and performance management programmes Have experience and good understanding of BRC and major retailer standards and the ability to ensure compliance to customer codes of practice Must have Food Hygiene Level 4 and HACCP Level 3 qualifications with relevant leadership qualifications and experience A working knowledge in managing non-conformance systems, including disposition of quarantined material* Good knowledge of IT systems, especially excel and word with the ability to produce data trending
