Job Title: Fire & Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer Location: Regional (Office-based with site work across the country) Department: Fire & Security Division Reports To: Fire & Security Division Project & Contracts Manager About the Role: We are currently recruiting for Fire and Security Systems Installation and Commissioning Engineers for our client, a leading provider of fire and security solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and commissioning various fire and security systems across commercial and industrial premises. These systems include fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms. Some tasks may require working outside regular hours, and overnight accommodation may be required for certain site projects across the UK. This position is regional, with office-based work and travel to sites across the country. Main Duties: As a Fire & Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer, your main responsibilities will include: * Interpreting detailed drawings and specifications to develop work plans * Installing and commissioning fire alarm and security system equipment (first and second fix) * Documenting completed work, including materials used, locations, and compliance requirements * Identifying and addressing areas of non-compliance * Collaborating with contractors, engineers, site supervisors, and project managers to ensure the timely delivery of installation and commissioning works * Adhering to British Standards and industry regulations * Reporting any variations from the original brief to the Project/Contracts Manager Business Expectations: To be successful in this role, you should: * Be an excellent communicator with both verbal and IT skills * Have a solid understanding of relevant British Standards, including BS(Apply online only) Part 1, BS7671, and BS8243:2021 * Have prior experience in the fire and security industry * Be proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications * Pay strong attention to detail and produce high-quality, compliant work * Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently * Have a good understanding of health and safety practices * Possess excellent organizational and time management skills * Be a FIRAS-approved operative (desired) Qualifications & Documentation: The following qualifications and certifications are required for this role: * Recent FIA accreditation and courses * DBS certification (required and will be undertaken as part of the vetting process) * BS7858 vetting (to be initiated) * Beneficial qualifications: ECS, IPAF, or similar * Industry-specific system and equipment training is advantageous Why Apply?
