Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS), part of the University of Cambridge, is a world-class institution known for rigorous thinking and high-impact education. Since its founding in 1990, CJBS has built a strong reputation for transforming individuals, organisations, and society through research and teaching. Located at the centre of the Cambridge Cluster, Europe's leading technology entrepreneurship ecosystem, CJBS sits within an 800-year-old university yet embodies a modern, globally engaged business school. It was ranked 1st in the UK's 2021 Research Excellence Framework for business and management studies.

The Organisational Theory and Information Systems (OTIS) group has developed a reputation for research that is rigorous, original, and consequential, as evidenced by a strong publication record, deep engagement with regulators and practitioners, as well as high-profile media coverage. OTIS faculty regularly publish impactful research, which can be found in journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Studies and Journal of Management Studies, among others.

The OTIS group at Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) is seeking to recruit an Assistant/Associate Professor in Organisational Theory and Information Systems. The appointment may be made with or without tenure, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. The group aims to enhance its global visibility through high-quality research outputs, including the publication of rigorous and impactful studies, and by successfully placing its PhD graduates in academic careers.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of impactful research, demonstrated by a robust publication record and a strong pipeline of working papers. They will also possess excellent teaching experience in business school degree programmes (MBA, Executive MBA, MPhil/Ph.D.) or Executive Education engagements. Although we will consider candidates in all areas of Organisational Theory and Information Systems, preference will be given to candidates doing research and teaching in digital innovation, digital technology/AI, digital social innovation, digital/data governance, digital entrepreneurship, and digital health.

You will be expected to contribute to teaching courses at undergraduate, graduate, and post-experience levels. However, our teaching loads are relatively low by US and European standards, allowing you to focus on research. The teaching associated with the post may cover core and elective courses on the MBA, EMBA, MPhil/Ph.D. programmes, and undergraduate/tripos programmes. Project administration and dissertation supervision are also expected in this role.

We are looking for an anticipated start date of 1 September 2026, or earlier if possible, and offer a competitive package of benefits. We particularly welcome applications from female candidates and/or individuals from a BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) background for this vacancy. Currently, these groups are underrepresented at this level within our department.

If you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply promptly. The closing date for this advertisement may be earlier than initially indicated should a number of suitably qualified candidates submit applications. We also reserve the right to extend the closing date, if necessary, until the position is filled.

The University actively supports equality, diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society. The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
