About The Role

If so, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Software Developer to join our team at Sunbelt Rentals UK. As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing both internal and customer-facing, business-critical, and innovative applications, in both new and legacy technologies where required, and contribute to architectural designs where necessary. You will also provide technical support over these applications to ensure faults are resolved quickly and effectively. Additionally, you will support and mentor junior team members and perform code reviews to ensure high coding standards.

You will be involved in sprint cycles, planning, review sessions, and the iterative build, test, and deployment processes. The role requires interaction with all levels of the business to deliver solutions through our request for work process. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring about one day per month in the Warrington Office at Birchwood Park, with potential for longer-term remote work and travel within our depot network for implementation and testing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage delivery commitments within sprints for timely and quality solutions.
2. Design technical architecture supporting project delivery and scalability.
3. Analyze and plan technical requirements.
4. Review and support work item requirements from the Business Analysis team.
5. Write and review code adhering to standards.
6. Prepare test cases and strategies for unit and integration testing.
7. Oversee deployment of applications and solutions.
8. Resolve technical issues and troubleshoot problems.
9. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
10. Mentor and support junior team members.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Expertise in C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core & ASP.NET
• Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript & CSS
• Proficiency in T-SQL
• Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like React (preferable)
• Understanding of UI/UX standards and emerging technologies
• Experience with web services integration (REST, GraphQL)
• Experience with Azure Integration technologies
• Passion for testing at all levels
• Knowledge of security practices
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Good knowledge of version control & CI/CD
• Experience with Git and pair programming
• Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills
• At least 5 years of web app development experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field (preferred)
• Relevant professional certifications (preferred)
