Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday day-based role (44 hours per week)
Salary: Circa £46,000 per annum plus an extensive benefits package including a profit related bonus.
Are you already an Electrical, Mechanical or Multi Skilled Engineer with previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment? We are growing the team at our bakery in Stockton! We are looking to appoint 2 day based Multi Skilled Engineers to join a highly experienced and established team.
With a focus on planned preventative maintenance, route cause analysis and continuous improvement. You’ll ideally have experience of both Mechanical and Electrical engineering. Ideally you'll have some knowledge of condition-based monitoring including thermal imaging and ultrasound to identify faults before they occur.
The Recipe
Our engineers work in close conjunction with production, safety and hygiene. The team undertake planned and preventative maintenance and are encouraged to use their engineering skills and experience to develop robust solutions and long-term fixes. There’s a huge variety of tasks that will range from general plant maintenance to improving plant reliability and diagnosing problems before they develop. The environment is a highly automated 24/7 food manufacturing plant.
As part of your role, you’ll be identifying and completing continuous improvement projects to increase plant efficiency, reduce downtime and save energy and associated costs. We’ll help to develop your technical skills by providing additional training and support.
The Role
- Ensure all engineering activities undertaken are compliant to internal & external standards including Health & Safety legislation, identifying any required actions so that the area of responsibility is healthy, safe and accident free.
- Responsible for executing fault finding and maintenance through RCM and CBM activities.
- Driving improvements in asset reliability and reduction in losses.
- Adheres to site specific machinery procedures to ensure safe and efficient asset maintenance, contributing to the continuous improvement of operational performance.
- Drive a proactive Engineering Continuous Improvement culture - Contributing to the improvement and development of maintenance activities & standard operating procedures.
- Compliance with quality and food safety legislation, company standards and specifications in order to meet the requirements of professional and legal standards.
Essential Ingredients
- Mechanical and Electrical Engineering experience
- Excellent route cause analysis skills
- Knowledge of Condition based monitoring (Thermal, Ultrasound and vibration analysis) would be preferred but not essential
- Health & Safety systems & legislation knowledge to ensure a safe working environment.
- Knowledge and experience of maintenance preferably in a FMCG environment.
- Engineering Qualification such as Apprenticeship, HNC, BTECH or equivalent.
