Are you a recent performing arts or sports graduate with a passion to support the upcoming generation and gain hands-on experience working in the education sector? Horizon Teachers are seeking driven graduates who are seeking experience in teaching and educational practice within our Primary schools across London. Applicants are welcome to apply from any subject specialism including Drama, Sport, and Creative Arts.
The successful candidate will:
- Work alongside the class teacher to prepare daily work for students, put up displays, and assist as required within the classroom.
- Ideally offer games and coaching skills in one or more major sports and creative subjects including drama, football, and basketball.
- Take responsibility for guided reading with students daily, update reading records, complete the reading progress book fortnightly, and monitor that they are reading books appropriate to their level.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies at all times and encourage a positive behaviour and approach to school life.
- Ensure all safeguarding practices are followed in line with the school's policy, and all incidents are recorded and up to date.
- Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and other school activities, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
