St. Osmund’s C.E. Middle School is an over-subscribed Middle School for Years 5 - 8, located in the thriving county town of Dorchester. The school is proudly part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust and is Ofsted Good in all areas (2022). We are a Church of England School built upon the Christian values of hope, community, respect, and love. We are seeking a flexible and efficient Administrative & Attendance Assistant to join our Admin team.
The role is divided into three parts:
- Attendance Assistant on Mondays, 8am to 4pm, monitoring students’ attendance throughout the day.
- Tuesdays, 10am to 3:30pm, acting as the first point of contact for students needing medical attention and handling general admin work.
- Front Reception on Fridays, 8am to 4pm, welcoming visitors, answering phones, and assisting students and staff.
Our usual office hours are 8:00 to 4:30 during term time. To support working parents, we offer before and after school childcare at Out of Hours. This is a permanent and varied role starting 1st September.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring students’ attendance on Mondays.
- Managing medical needs and administrative tasks on Tuesdays.
- Reception duties on Fridays, including visitor reception and communication.
The successful applicant will:
- Have a positive and friendly outlook.
- Possess excellent communication and IT skills.
- Be well-organized with good time management skills.
- Be able to prioritize effectively and handle a demanding workload.
- Be committed to the school's ethos and values.
- Follow directions from the Headteacher, School Business Manager, or Office Manager.
Experience in a school office and a first aid qualification would be advantageous.
