Safety Coordinator We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for implementing safety programs, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Responsibilities: Perform daily safety walks and record discrepancies for corrective action. Maintain records of all training for future use. Understand all aspects of shipyard safety policies. Fill out weekly NESHAP reports. Hold and record weekly gang box training on all jobs. Must have the physical ability to continually walk up and down ladder wells, gangways, ramps, etc. Minimum 3 years shipyard experience. Knowledge of painting, sandblasting, and water jetting is a plus. Knowledge of CFR 29 1915 and Navsea Standard items. Experience with workers\’ compensation procedures and OSHA record keeping is a plus. High school diploma required. Must have access to all Military bases and HII in Newport News. Qualifications: Proven experience in a similar role, with knowledge of Workers\’ Compensation a plus. Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety standards. Strong understanding of root cause analysis techniques. Certification in CPR, First Aid, or related fields is a plus.
