AWE is currently recruiting a People Capability Specialist to support key stakeholders by understanding their data requirements, extracting workforce capability reports and manipulating data to support business activities, in support of current and future programme requirements. Please note, this is a 10-month fixed term contract.
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking. The plan is to relocate to Green Park, Reading at the end of 2025.
Package: £37,300 - £45,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience).

As the People Capability Specialist, you will support people software platform development and integration as well as providing support across the business to proactively capture and record operational workforce capability and competency data ensuring that we meet business requirements.
Some of the Key Responsibilities:
- Providing technical support to the business in using the software for people data management requirements.
- Support business utilisation and adoption of people management platforms and software applications.
- Interrogate data and analyse trends, using the information to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Test, audit and check system data.
- Work with a variety of business teams to identify, capture and monitor workforce data and supporting content change requirements.
- Support company policy, working with business teams to help them manage their people data, delivering pragmatic solutions, standardised processes, and guidance.
- Provide reporting metrics and information as required by the business, and other stakeholders.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate would be able to work confidently with data and IT platforms generating reports, metrics as well as testing and auditing data requirements. Previous experience using people management platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, Saba, Workday, SAP, etc., would be beneficial but not essential. Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following:
- Strong analytical capabilities and knowledge of the use of metrics.
- Working with standard and bespoke office applications and toolsets including shared information platforms, spreadsheets, and presentation applications (PowerBI, Excel).
- Experience of operational people processes, problem solving and decision making.
- Good communication skills and confidence in working with and influencing colleagues within the business.
- Good standard of general education, with proven literacy and numeracy.
