We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Safety, Health, Environment and Fire (SHEF) Manager to join our team at VIVO Defence. This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and stakeholders across the Southwest and Central regions of England. As a SHEF Manager, you will provide expert guidance and solutions to support our operations, ensuring that all work activities are carried out safely and in full compliance with current regulations and safety operating procedures. Reporting to the Head of SHEF, you will work closely with the Built Estate Operational teams and contractors, playing a key role in the successful implementation of our Safety Management System.
This is an exciting new role within a growing business, supporting the delivery of infrastructure, asset management, facilities management, and construction services for the UK Defence Sector. You will take charge of key health and safety initiatives, supporting both operational and sustainability projects, and will be responsible for running project activities, delivering health and safety training, conducting inspections, and ensuring that all safety standards are met and maintained.
In addition to supporting zero harm and sustainability initiatives across our contracts, you will assist in the management of Principal Contractor and Designer duties, produce monthly health and safety reports, and work closely with operational managers to ensure seamless coordination. You’ll also play an active role in maintaining our BS 45001 certification through regular audits and inspections.
This role is ideal for a professional with strong communication skills and experience in health and safety management in the construction sector. A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is required, and experience in environmental management and fire safety will be highly advantageous. This position offers flexibility, with the opportunity to work from home, but also involves regular travel to meet the needs of the business.
