The predicted salary is between 38800 - 43400 £ per year.

Hourly rate of pay: £18.70 - £20.91. This is a 52-week non-sessional post, i.e. it will include working during the school holidays. Temporary full-time post for 12 months.

  • Monday, 08:00-18:00
  • Tuesday, 08:00-13:30
  • Wednesday, 08:00-18:00
  • Thursday, 12:00-18:00
  • Friday, 08:00-12:30

To start asap. Law Primary School is situated in the beautiful coastal town of North Berwick. The new purpose-built Early Years Centre is within the grounds of Law Primary School and opened earlier this year. Our nursery has a current capacity of up to 80 children per session. We have a strong, dynamic staff who are committed to providing high-quality early learning for our children.

We would consider a secondment for this post, and if applying for the post on a secondment basis, you must seek permission from your line manager.

Job Details:

To work as part of and supervise on a day-to-day basis, a team of early learning and childcare practitioners, in delivering a high-quality child-centered service which supports the needs of children and families and enables each child to achieve their potential within a caring, safe, and welcoming environment.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications: You must be educated to HNC level in Early Education and Childcare or hold SNNB/HNC/SVQ3 qualifications in Childcare/Education or equivalent and be able to evidence additional learning and knowledge of current practice and legislation in relation to Early Learning and Childcare.

Scottish Social Services Council: SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration within 3 months of your start date to ensure that you are registered within the required 6 months.

PVG/Disclosure Requirements: This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
