We’re recruiting! Join us as a Casual Autism Support Practitioner and create a future where learning-disabled people live the best life possible. A professional qualification in health, education or social care is desirable . In addition, you must also have previous experience supporting individuals within a social care, education or health environment. The individuals we support have challenging behaviour; therefore, previous experience supporting individuals with Autism is essential. We know that life can be complicated for everybody. But some of us are stopped from working towards our dreams. Many learning-disabled people won’t be heard about the support they’d like. Some won’t get to decide what they do for work or how to spend or save their money. Many won\’t get to try out the new hobbies they’d love to try. But you can change all that. Do you feel like our values – Kind, Diverse, Positive and Visionary – are a good match to your values? Then we’ve got lots in common already. Come on board and support learning disabled adults with those very values to develop skills, achieve their life goals and thrive in your community. What we offer you Where you’ll be working: Coleford (Forest of Dean) Your salary: £14.42 + 12.07% per hour (£16.16). Your working hours: early, late and weekend shifts (07:00-14:30, 14:30 – 22:00, 22:00-07:00). Sleep ins at the service are £60 + 12.07% per night. What you’ll be doing Every day is different. This can range from supporting someone to plan their weekly shop, to going on an outdoor adventure. Providing everyday personal care to supporting someone to go to their favourite gig. Building someone’s confidence in using public transport to teaching money management skills. What’s important is supporting people to discover new interests, achieve new goals and maintain important relationships with their family and friends. You’ll provide the highest possible standard of care and support for learning disabled adults. Listening to their wants and needs, enabling people to do daily tasks such as taking medication, cooking a meal or working with them to build their confidence and take on new adventures they are longing for. All this while working a variety of shifts to support your work and home life balance. Public transport is limited; therefore, a full UK driving licence is desirable for this role. We are looking for an individual who can work flexibly, to pick up shifts to fill any gaps in the rota, including weekends, and willing to work at least 3 shifts per week. We can’t wait to meet you at our Coleford service! Job Description and Person Specification #J-18808-Ljbffr
