The Royal Opera House's National Schools Programme empowers teachers to inspire creativity in children and young people through music, dance, and design, reflecting the world-class ballet and opera artistry of the Royal Opera House. Our ambition is to provide the most flexible, change-making offer for schools in England looking to enhance their arts-based learning.

Our National Schools Programme offers Primary Schools free access to our three strands: Create & Dance, Create & Sing, and Create & Design. We are now looking to recruit freelance Schools Specialists who are passionate about creative and cultural learning in primary schools, to ensure the ROH National Schools Programme can reach as many state-funded primary schools as possible in the following areas:

  • North Northamptonshire
  • East Riding
  • Warrington

Freelance Schools Specialists will work on local recruitment of schools to the ROH National Schools Programmes, connect local organisations with the National Schools Partnerships Manager, and support planning for the ongoing direction and legacy of the partnership.

We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following:

  • A strong understanding of, and connections within, local primary schools through previous work in education or as a creative practitioner
  • Knowledge of and connections to key stakeholders in local creative education, including arts and cultural organisations and local creative and education networks
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to approach and generate rapport with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Highly organised and able to keep accurate records
