This is a growing practice where there is an opportunity for a proactive person to focus on an advisory role and develop excellent client service. This Top firm is unrivalled in peer competition and the most highly regarded firm in the area. In a newly developing area with much potential, you can experience the complexities of clients based in London, rivalling the London market, whilst enjoying the more rural and settled surroundings of Hampshire.
This team is flexible and family-oriented, organising summer parties and regular trips for you and your family. A team member recently told me that this office has a strong, cohesive and supportive environment, the culture you’d expect from a much smaller firm and that isn’t mirrored in any larger firms that he’d seen. This opportunity offers you a friendly and encouraging environment where the key point is being part of the team. Not only is this a premium environment, but the training offered is continually supportive and is ongoing. In addition, the national head of the private client tax department regularly comes to the office to provide training and advice.
The Role
Unlike many large firms, where you’re expected to take on a compliance-focused role and work your way up, this position offers a full advisory focused role! The firm can do this because the low-level compliance work for your clients is handled by another internal team, freeing up your time to focus on tax planning. There’s the chance to hit the ground running in this role. Within your first weeks, you will advise clients and meet with them – almost from day one. You can stretch your people skills and build a relationship with your clients; it’s not just about the process but about becoming the lead contact. Your portfolio will have more of a complex and interesting edge to it, holding HNWIs (including some non-doms). The clients are varied, both in location and discipline. There are many London-based clients and local, ranging from entrepreneurs, directors of companies, family money, and celebrities. There is added responsibility in reviewing junior staff’s work, giving you the chance to develop your managerial experience.
So, in summary, this role offers you advisory focus, supportive training, an unrivalled culture from a Top firm.
Your Experience
- Ideally you will be – ATT or CTA qualified or part qualified, or equivalent
- Experience in a Private Client Tax environment
- Good people skills and a team player
