Our client is a leading developer of Integrated Platform Management Systems used on board Naval vessels. They are looking to hire an Electrical CAD Design Engineer, which is a key role within the Hardware Engineering team, to create and review electrical designs and drawings to deliver on a Defence maritime platform management project. This role offers a flexible working pattern so please contact me for further details. We are also only able to consider applications from sole UK nationals due to the high level of security clearance required.
Responsibilities:
- Produce electrical schematics using AutoCAD electrical
- Support the creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Provide electrical engineering support to the Electrical Design Engineering team
- Develop component libraries to support schematics
- Review electrical schematics in accordance with relevant standards and internal Computer Aided Design (CAD) processes
- Maintain documents and drawings through development and production changes
- Collaboratively support other engineering functions from a mechanical drawing perspective
- Raise and action Change Notes (CN)
- Manage and adhere to configuration management processes for baseline control throughout the full project lifecycle
Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience in an Electrical CAD position
- Understanding and working knowledge of electrical related Defence Standards, including Lloyds Register and other Military Standards (e.g. Def Stan 59-411)
- Proficient user of AutoCAD Electrical or similar
- Ability to work independently on own initiative, as well as within a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment
