Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the overnight shift.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Leadership structure, awards for unit department, high performing unit, high engagement scores, teamwork, flexibility, peer support.

SCHEDULE: Full-time 40-hour position Monday through Friday and every other weekend with rotation holidays. Night Shift 8:00p-6:30a.

LOCATION: 759 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma, GED or HiSet.
  • Pharmacy Technician License for State of Massachusetts is required.
  • PTCB – National Certification is required for Acute Care.
  • Previous pharmacy technician (acute/retail setting) experience required.

Summary: Pharmacy technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in various activities of the pharmacy department. The pharmacy technician is responsible for essential functions and responsibilities outlined in this document, noting every employee is expected to perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Distributive Pharmacy Services: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the position and performs various functions associated with the institutional drug distribution system in accordance with regulatory and compliance standards.
  2. Dedication to Quality Improvement Initiatives: Accurately refills, checks, locks and stickers code carts according to policy/procedure.
  3. Customer Service & Teamwork: Interacts effectively with other members of the department and health care team on a regular basis.
