Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is pleased to offer Social Work positions within our Intensive Intervention Teams (East and West, 1,2,3). We are also welcoming applications from final year students who will qualify later this year. All staff within our ACP Intensive Intervention Teams (East and West, 1,2,3) are eligible to receive a £2,000 market supplement. This is regardless of length of post qualifying experience and will be reviewed in May 2025. This payment will be paid pro rata on a monthly basis.

Grade 11 (£41,511) Entry Level Social Worker and registration with Social Care Wales. Grade 12 (£44,711) Experienced Social Worker ~ minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience and registration with Social Care Wales.

About the Teams

Our Intensive Intervention teams offer the opportunity to work with children with wide ranging needs, which includes children subject to care and support plans (CASP), Children Looked After (CLA) and those in the child protection arena. This affords a variety of work and learning opportunities. We have focussed our resources to support social workers to deliver high quality assessments, plans and direct work, to improve the experience and outcomes for children.

Final Year Social Work Students

RCT has a successful and proven track record of supporting large numbers of students at all levels. Final year students who are successful at interview are offered the opportunity to be employed as temporary Assessor Care Managers from the earliest opportunity until their registration is complete. Furthermore, we understand that transitioning from studies into employment can be a busy time, and therefore hours in advance of taking up a qualified position can be flexible to suit individual needs. Additional Information

Those shortlisted for interview will be asked to confirm if they are applying for a Social Worker (GR11) or Experienced Social Worker (GR12) post prior to interview. Those applying for an Experienced Social Worker position will need to be prepared to provide evidence at interview of their registration with Social Care Wales and 3 years post-qualifying social work experience.
