GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming school in Tower Hamlets. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students in overcoming challenges and making progress in their academic and personal development. As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with students to help them build the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. You will be part of a supportive team focused on promoting positive mental health and well-being for all students. Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both individually and in groups. Assist in creating and implementing personalised learning plans. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. Help students manage their emotions and improve social skills as an SEMH Teaching Assistant. Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure students’ needs are met effectively. Requirements: Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2/3, are desirable but not essential. Experience working with students who have SEMH needs is an advantage. A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
