We are seeking a Loads Engineer to join SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, as part of our expansion efforts. This role involves performing load calculations for aircraft sizing studies and major MOD modifications, supporting our growing team during the ramp-up period this summer.
Responsibilities
- Calculate ground loads such as landings, braking, turns, and rollings.
- Determine flight loads including longitudinal and lateral maneuvers, load alleviation functions, gusts, and failure cases.
- Assess component loads on specific parts like NCF, HTP, ailerons, and pylons.
- Conduct aeroelastic calculations, including flutter and control surface limit cycle oscillations.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering.
- Knowledge of flight physics, flight and ground loads, aeroelasticity, and aerodynamics.
- Understanding of aircraft behavior and physical principles.
- Proficiency in coding languages such as VBA and Python.
- Experience with Matlab.
- Strong planning and scheduling skills across multiple modules.
- Effective communication skills to clearly define expectations and facilitate understanding.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multicultural teams.
