This is a Gloucestershire County Council job located at Oakley A.O.C. The position is permanent and the closing date for applications is 02/06/2025. This post is not open to job share.

As part of our Adult Social Care team, you will support individuals to regain their confidence and independence, making them feel important. You will help people lead fulfilling, dignified lives at the Oakley Day Centre, which is a purpose-built service for adults with learning disabilities. Activities are planned using information gathered through Person Centred Plans, including swimming, art, and relaxation.

The Woodlands is an independent service situated in the grounds of Oakley Adult Opportunity Centre, also catering to adults with learning disabilities, including Autism and complex needs. In this role, you will demonstrate experience working with adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, and challenging behaviours. You will encourage participation in sessions and activities to enhance independence, develop care plans, and conduct risk assessments to assist with personal care and day-to-day needs.

Collaboration with parents, carers, and other professionals is essential to achieve positive outcomes for those we care for. Our services are continuously evolving, and responsibilities may be subject to minor changes.

About you: You should have an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification and hands-on experience working with individuals who have physical, mental health, or behavioural needs. You must be committed to enhancing the lives of people with diverse abilities, confident in providing personal care and administering medication, and proactive about your professional development.
