Job Details Date: 2 May 2025 Job Title: Conservation Technician (Cultivate) Unit/Directorate: Millie College Enterprise Team Reports To: Enterprise Cultivate Lead Hours: Full time, 37.5 hrs/week, 52 weeks/year (including weekends); part-time options considered Salary: £23,400 FTE (£12 p/hr) Location: Millie College, Holton Lee, Poole Overview Join the Shaftesbury Millie College Enterprise team as a Conservation Technician, focusing on outdoor enterprises like Horticulture and Conservation. The role involves managing conservation areas, supporting educational activities, and maintaining safe, accessible environments across a 350-acre site. Main Responsibilities Oversee Conservation Horticulture areas Maintain health & safety records and ensure compliance Inspect grounds and structures regularly for safety Coordinate with enterprise managers for effective delivery Identify repairs and liaise with maintenance Support material and equipment procurement Ensure safety procedures are followed Work flexibly, including weekends and out of hours as needed Support college events and communication efforts What We Offer A collaborative, supportive environment Opportunities for professional growth Access to excellent facilities Candidate Requirements Relevant qualification in Conservation or Horticulture, or equivalent experience Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education Ability to work independently and as part of a team Additional Information This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
