A well-established engineering and fabrication company based in Guisborough is seeking a talented and motivated Graduate Design Engineer to join their growing design team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your engineering career in a forward-thinking and supportive environment, working on a diverse range of bespoke projects across multiple industries including oil & gas, energy, and heavy engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and development of steel fabrications, pressure vessels, structural assemblies, and complex mechanical components.
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks).
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, BOMs, and project specifications.
- Liaise with project managers, workshop staff, suppliers, and clients to ensure designs meet requirements and standards.
- Conduct design reviews, support design validation and verification, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and internal quality procedures.
Requirements:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related discipline (2:2 or above).
- Proficiency in CAD software (preferably Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
