In this role, you will focus on improving metering and settlement performance by collaborating with third-party suppliers, wholesalers, and internal teams. You will be responsible for validating and tracking settlement performance, overseeing metering flow activity, managing product billing, generating reports, and performing data cleansing to ensure alignment with industry standards and compliance with regulatory obligations. You will also work closely with internal teams and our outsourced partner, providing the necessary resources and support to help them succeed, while acting as a point of escalation for any metering and settlement issues.
Reports to: Operations Manager – Utilities
Responsibilities of the role:
- Monitor industry data flow activity to ensure compliance and optimal performance, identify exceptions and ensure timely resolution either internally or through our outsourced partner.
- Provide analytical insights into industry performance, highlighting trends and key areas for improvement.
- Report on and forecast metering settlement performance.
- Track, review, and report on third-party performance and settlement, identifying shortfalls or deviations from expectations.
- Support continuous improvement efforts against internal/external KPIs, accuracy of wholesale and customer billing, and the customer/colleague experience.
- Review and assess third-party performance, identifying any performance gaps or deviations from expected outcomes.
- Schedule meter reads with third-party meter readers, ensuring all reads are accurately scheduled, received, and processed into industry systems and our internal CRM to avoid regulatory penalties.
- Resolve daily meter read exceptions caused by data flow issues, coordinating with outsourced partners and third parties as needed.
- Assist in the validation of customer billing and operational invoices.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving data quality.
- Develop expert-level knowledge in flow management, settlement, and metering within the industry.
- Gain proficiency in third-party software, portals, and reporting tools, including CMA, CMOS, and Scotland Water portals.
- Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with regulatory standards, GDPR, and Clear Business’ quality policies.

Experience:
- Ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Demonstrated ability to take a methodical and meticulous approach to tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in the Utilities (water/gas/electricity) sector (desirable).
- Previous experience in an Analyst or Metering or Settlement role (desirable).
Skills:
- I.T. literate, knowledge of the effective use of Microsoft (Word, Excel PowerPoint).
- Strong data analysis skills and the ability to create performance reports that identify issues and opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, no evenings, weekends or bank holidays.
