Role Overview: Due to continued growth and internal promotion, we are seeking an experienced engineer to join our Data Centre team. The role involves supporting and delivering, technically and operationally, individual or multiple projects related to new works within allocated budgets and defined programmes.
Duties:
- Possess good electrical/mechanical knowledge and experience to deliver resilient power projects.
- Willingness to undertake training on Control Systems.
- Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in line with EMCOR QA.
- Appoint and manage specialist contractors as required.
- Prepare specifications and briefs in consultation with the technical and design team/project manager.
- Ensure all RAMS are suitable and sufficient for subcontractors and direct resources.
- Prepare programs in conjunction with the project manager and supply chain. Monitor throughout project delivery.
- Attend regular client and pre-start meetings as required.
- Attend factory acceptance testing, ensuring equipment aligns with specifications and performance criteria.
- Oversee completion of snags and defects resulting from FAT, protecting the interests of EMCOR UK and stakeholders.
- Manage all works in accordance with EMCOR standards and health and safety regulations.
- Willingness to undertake company internal training workshops.
- Adhere to EMCOR procurement policies.
- Review technical submissions and sub-contractor proposals.
- Maintain EMCOR quality control systems and procedures.
- Keep appropriate records for audits.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Manage all health and safety matters (CDM) as per EMCOR procedures and legislation.
- Produce and evaluate technical project documentation.

Person Specification:
- Extensive experience in a technical electrical role.
- Experience with standby power systems, including UPS, Generators, and controls.
- Good understanding of IT systems.
- Understanding of Control Systems.
- Successful track record in delivering standby power systems.
- Experience in mission-critical environments.
- Relevant qualifications or apprenticeship in a craft or engineering discipline.
- Current qualification of BS7671 wiring regulations.
- Experience with LV panel configurations and safe switching procedures.
- Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
- Willingness to undertake training in installation/commissioning of standby power control systems.
- Effective planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to liaise with and supervise contractors.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Self-motivated with effective workload management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic skills in Microsoft Project.
- Sufficient health and safety (CDM) experience for project management.
Additional locations include Berkshire, Bracknell, Newbury, Reading, Slough.
Position Package: Up to £60,000 per annum plus car allowance.
