Job Purpose

To deliver a business analysis capability through a number of business analysts embedded in a number of product and technology teams. The role will be a subject matter expert in Business Analysis focusing on commercial business cases and business process engineering. The role will provide guidance across the stakeholder community, working with the wider business and IT teams to deliver business analysis standards, capability, and process alignment to ensure requirements are understood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with business process owners to deliver business requirements (user stories) for the delivery of any product team to AHUK agreed standard.
  • Ensure you develop personal and technical skills to ensure constant delivery of high-quality services for business analysis, commercial business cases, requirements elicitation, process modelling, and documentation.
  • Strong experience facilitating and leading structured requirements workshops that deliver understanding and acceptance of the requirements using agreed standards such as Gherkin format.
  • Create epics, features, and user stories within a requirement management tool to track and baseline requirements.
  • Work with the Test team to review user stories to create test scenarios that prove we have met the requirements and can deliver automated regression, functional, and non-functional test and performance pack.
  • Deliver the requirements for the solution to ensure best value for the business and identify potential areas of functionality to exploit or reuse solutions from other countries if already developed.
  • Ensure all deliveries across project and product teams are based on versioned and baselined user stories and customer has understood and accepted the documented requirements.
  • Ensure any requirements that materially impact costs are agreed with the budget holder.
  • Ensure high performance delivery through consistent, well-documented, configuration of agreed solutions.
  • Identify and suggest existing or new emerging standards and best practice for business analysis.
  • Ensure all decisions taken are commercially aware and support business, Innovation, and IT strategies.
  • Ensure you work actively to improve and enhance the IT team’s service delivery.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is produced to agreed standards for the service, all processes and technical information to build and manage the application must be managed in a structured format.
  • Ensure all work carried out is either a supported service within an agreed SLA, Project sanctioned by product team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Systems or Business Field.
  • Extensive experience delivering functional business analysis primarily for business process engineering.
  • Working in a challenging and complex global, matrix-based organisation and demonstrable experience of delivering business and technical change.
  • Expert level of business understanding and process optimization using Lean and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Good experience of understanding and writing business requirements/product backlogs, process engineering elements to enable delivery of business focused technical solutions to an agreed and tested standard.
  • Proven experience working in a small team delivering technical solutions based on user stories/business requirements.
  • Experience growing or setting up a team as a leader.
  • Experience of working with internal and external suppliers to ensure specified SLAs are met.
  • Ability to deal with and manage conflict whilst building successful business relationships across a range of stakeholder groups.
  • Strong experience of delivering user stories for websites and portals for the business using enterprise content management, document management across mobile and desktop.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • An ability to learn quickly and disseminate relevant knowledge to the wider team.
