A new vacancy has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team based in Rugeley, Staffordshire.
About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the successful candidate will be an all-round team player responsible for reconciliation of supplier statements and supporting with the purchase ledger when required and other ad hoc duties. To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have demonstrable experience in reconciliation, purchase ledger and working to strict time frames with a strong focus on attention to detail, working flexibly and be a strong team player. In this role you will be mentored by your line manager and provided exposure to a number of finance tasks in the view to developing your own skills and the support to the department. This role will allow the successful candidate an opportunity for growth using the experience from the existing established team. This is a great opportunity if you are ready to take your next step on your finance career. Financial support towards furthering your Finance education will be considered upon completion of a successful probation review.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the Purchase Ledger and providing cover for the finance assistant.
- Assisting with payment forecasting and payment runs.
- Managing credit card and cash expenses using the Concur system and assisting the business with training and support where necessary.
- Assisting with the month end process including accruals and prepayments and preparing and reporting on variance schedules.
- Providing cover for other relevant tasks within the department.
- Assisting with the Annual Audit.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably required by Management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively to achieve strict deadlines in a fast-paced moving environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team but also on your own initiative.
- Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Fully AAT qualified as a minimum.
