Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Machine Borer within the Machine Shop department. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry. This Machine Borer position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion.

In this role, the right candidate will have extensive experience operating all types of boring machines, particularly horizontal boring machines and jig borers. You will be responsible for working to fine tolerances, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring all tasks are carried out in compliance with company procedures and safety regulations.

Role Responsibilities Will Include:

  • To operate all types of boring machines to fine limits.
  • Operate various boring machines to precision limits.
  • Work independently and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
  • Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, OHM, CMM, and SOPM.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of horizontal boring practices and the ability to measure using imperial units.
  • Maintain accurate records, including the Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations and company policies.

Skills And Experience Required:

  • Trained in machine shop technology and machining practices.
  • Extensive experience operating horizontal boring machines.
  • Strong working knowledge of jig borers.
  • Knowledge of CNC boring is preferable.
  • Aerospace industry experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Able to use their own initiative.
  • Strong analytical skill set.
  • Good communicator - ability to communicate with staff on business and other issues that affect the business.
  • Good planning, organisation and administration skills, PC literate.

Double day shift Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday (dependant on business needs). One week of early shifts (6am to 2pm) and one week of late shifts (2pm to 10pm) alternating. Up to Β£34,078.69 salary.
