Spherical Search have recently partnered with a prominent player in the inhalation & nasal drug delivery market, based in Wales, who specialize in the development and testing of inhalable and nasal pharmaceutical products, collaborating closely with pharmaceutical companies to ensure product safety, efficacy and regulatory compliance.
We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to join the team who will support business development initiatives and help grow the business with new and existing clients.
Although the company is based in Wales, This is a remote position and we are open to applicants anywhere in the UK and this person will work with Global Customers.
ROLE OVERVIEW
• Lead generation, research and qualification, follow up and use of CRM.
• Maintain and develop a list of existing and potential clients aligning to strategic direction.
• Through consultative selling approaches, identify opportunities to meet customer needs and scope
solution with relevant scientists and colleagues.
• Prepare quotations/contracts including use of value-based pricing and other relevant business
models (working closely with Head of Business Development).
• Secure high value and profitable business to contribute to hitting financial targets for site.
• Manage select key accounts to further develop opportunities within existing customer base.
• Develop a solid understanding of my clients services and value proposition to enable you to join
the dots between needs and solutions.
• Attend key conferences and trade shows.
• Visit customers and prospects where appropriate.
• Work with other stakeholders to share information and identify opportunities for the wider group.
• Enhance the reputation of the company continuously.
JOB DETAILS / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote company’s best interests at all times by the positive and effective manner in
which you perform your duties.
• Complete timesheets, expenses claims and appraisals in a timely manner as specified by
Stakeholders.
• Maintain an up to date training record and submit to your line manager at least every 6 months for
review, making updates and amendments as necessary.
• Read and Understand all assigned SOPs via the QMS system in the timeframe specified.
• Ensure confidential information pertaining to the company is not divulged to 3rd parties with
appropriate legal framework or permission.
• Use of IT equipment (e.g. phones, laptops, etc.) is in line with the appropriate company policies.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION
• A degree in a science, pharmacy or relevant discipline of grade 2.1 or above – essential
• A high-level qualification in business management, sales management or similar – beneficial
experience
• Experience in B2B sales, account management or business development in a relevant field e.g.
analytical services, pharmaceutical contract research, development and/or manufacturing – essential
• Experience and understanding of the development process for pharmaceutical products, particularly
in the inhalation or nasal industry – beneficial.
SKILLS
• Ability to learn new scientific and technical information and relate it to other customer projects in a
different context.
• Ability to speak confidently and credibly on scientific topics with customers and colleagues to a level
appropriate for a services-based business.
• Proactive and organised approach, able to exert influence over those whom they do not have direct
authority and proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
• Natural ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent customer related experience and client facing skills.
