Newcastle College invites applications from dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about education and student progression. We are seeking a qualified and dynamic individual to join our team as a Lecturer. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality learning experiences. Your duties include monitoring student retention and progress, implementing interventions to help students meet their targets, and maintaining effective communication with parents/guardians, external agencies, and colleagues within the curriculum and support teams.

You will also promote high standards in teaching and learning, creating an environment conducive to student success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, empathy, and a positive attitude in supporting student development, maintaining composure and calmness in challenging situations to foster a nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications required include an honours degree or equivalent industry-recognised standard. Ideally, candidates will hold a post-16 teaching qualification and Level 2 English and maths qualifications or be committed to obtaining these within an agreed timeframe. Experience in delivering effective education/training in Further Education, Higher Education, and/or Apprenticeships, along with a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment, is highly desirable.

Strong communication skills, digital literacy, and the ability to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines, and work flexibly—including evenings and weekends—are essential.
