About The Role
As a Customer Entertainment Associate at DFDS, you will be at the heart of creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, especially our youngest travellers. Bringing characters like Jack the Pirate to life, you’ll lead engaging, interactive activities that delight families and elevate the onboard and portside atmosphere. With a flair for performance and a passion for hospitality, you’ll work closely with Marketing and Customer Experience teams to ensure every moment is filled with fun, surprise, and personalised service—turning ordinary journeys into cherished memories. This role requires you to work any 5 from 7 days per week, on a 7-12 hour variable shift (including weekends).
Responsibilities include:
- Portraying Jack the Pirate and other DFDS mascots to entertain children and families both onboard vessels and at port terminals.
- Leading themed games, storytelling sessions, arts and crafts, and other engaging activities as part of the Jack & Pirate Island experience.
- Collaborating with the Marketing and Social Media teams to develop and promote guest experiences, including participating in photos, videos, and live events.
- Interacting with passengers to gather feedback via surveys, and promptly escalating any service-impacting issues to the Customer Experience Manager.
- Traveling to various DFDS locations to support entertainment events, seasonal activations, and promotional campaigns across the passenger network.

Comfortable in the spotlight, you’re confident representing DFDS at public events and trade fairs. You’re also willing to travel across our network, bringing your enthusiasm and expertise wherever it’s needed to help create memorable moments for our guests.
