The role

As a Commercial Specialist, you’ll lead on the commercial aspects of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), developing and implementing a proactive multi-functional GFE service that provides a transparent cradle-to-grave facility supported by the authority and the contractor. You will work alongside a team of Subject Matter Experts in Devonport and Clyde, supporting the wider GFE function. Manage bid proposals, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and guidelines. Provide strategic commercial guidance for high-quality and timely proposal submissions. Oversee commercial aspects of GFE Refurbishments and new equipment acquisitions. Align commercial strategies with project objectives through stakeholder collaboration. Develop processes and tools to enhance overall business function and efficiency. This role is full time, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements.

Essential Experience of the Commercial Specialist

  • Extensive experience in commercial management, focusing on contracts and project proposals.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills to drive favourable commercial outcomes.
  • Familiarity with Babcock Gated process or similar project approval frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying complex commercial information.
  • Proven adaptability to evolving project scopes, collaborating effectively in dynamic environments.
