Opportunity: To lead, grow, and deliver tax advisory services globally. This role requires technical depth, commercial acumen, supplier oversight, and internal collaboration. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality tax outcomes for our clients while also supporting our wider commercial objectives through growth in advisory and compliance services. You will operate as a Technical Expert within the Corporate Services POD, working collaboratively with the POD Leader, Global Account Manager, and Professional Services Administrator. You are expected to actively participate in all POD meetings, support shared targets, and ensure that tax advisory work contributes to overall client success, revenue growth, and client retention.

Duties:

  • Management of Tax Service Providers
  • Define, in collaboration with the Head of Global Suppliers, which tax services are to be delivered internally, through our Global Network, or by external providers (ICTs)
  • Ensure robust due diligence is undertaken for all providers including commercial terms, delivery SLAs, and quality thresholds
  • Continuously monitor the performance of all tax service providers, validating accuracy, timeliness, and quality of work delivered
  • Work alongside the commercial team to ensure outsourced providers are briefed clearly, engaged properly, and remunerated in line with their performance
  • Support the negotiation and review of ongoing contracts, pricing models, and delivery terms to maximise value and client satisfaction
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational performance of tax service providers, escalating any delivery risks and partnering with the Head of Global Suppliers to resolve issues swiftly and maintain CX standards

Tax Advisory Delivery:

  • Serve as the internal expert and escalation point for all client-related tax matters across UK and global engagements
  • Create and maintain client-specific tax delivery maps outlining all filing obligations, advisory checkpoints, and compliance deadlines
  • Work closely with Lead Accountants and the Director of Global Corporate Services team to deliver integrated advice aligned with accounting, payroll, and legal deliverables
  • Provide direct tax advice to clients as needed, covering areas such as corporate structuring, permanent establishment risk, employment tax, cross-border VAT, and transfer pricing
  • Lead resolution of HMRC enquiries or overseas audits where required, working with in-country specialists where necessary
  • Support the Head of Service & Solutions in embedding tax as a critical part of the delivery model, ensuring all advice is proactive, aligned to client priorities, and enhances the overall client experience
  • Train Global Account Managers to identify tax opportunities and refer leads effectively

Revenue Growth and Commercial Support:

  • Identify value-adding tax opportunities within existing client base, including structuring, cross-border compliance, or R&D claims
  • Brief the sales team regularly on tax changes, trends, and advisory triggers that create sales or upsell opportunities
  • Work with marketing to develop tax-led campaigns, webinars, and video content that build market awareness of tax capabilities
  • Support the bid and proposal process with technical input and client-specific tax considerations
  • Deliver internal sessions to train Global Account Managers and the sales team on how to spot and refer tax advisory opportunities
  • Co-own the tax sales strategy with the Sales Director, ensuring that advisory capability is clearly positioned and represented in the sales cycle
  • Represent the tax service in key sales meetings, acting as the face of tax to clients, intermediaries, and potential partners

Leadership and POD Participation:

  • Actively participate in all Corporate Services POD meetings, contributing updates, insights, and ideas to drive client performance
  • Support the POD Leader in understanding tax implications within client strategies and identify key opportunities or risks
  • Mentor and support junior members of the tax and professional services administrator team where relevant
  • Shape the future structure of the tax advisory division as client demand grows, including defining potential hiring needs, operating models, and delivery frameworks
  • Champion a culture of excellence and accountability in tax service delivery, aligned with Briars' client experience standards

Experience Required:

  • CTA qualified, or equivalent, with significant post-qualification experience in UK and international tax advisory
  • Proven track record of managing both tax delivery and third-party supplier relationships
  • Experience advising both corporate and high-net-worth individuals in a cross-border context
  • Strong commercial mindset, with demonstrable experience identifying revenue growth through tax solutions
  • Previous experience in professional services or a consulting firm preferred
