Join one of the most prolific and well-respected entertainment producers in the industry. As a result of yet another year of success, they are now recruiting a Legal & Business Affairs Executive / Production Lawyer to join their well-established LBA team.
The Role
- Oversee all legal and business affairs related to entertainment and factual production, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to production, including talent agreements, content acquisition, distribution deals, and other related documents.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for productions, identifying potential legal issues and providing strategic advice to mitigate these risks.
- Manage the company's intellectual property rights, including copyright and trademark issues related to production.
- Handle any disputes or litigations that may arise during the course of production, working closely with external counsel as necessary.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders such as production teams, marketing, finance, and external parties like talent agents, broadcasters, and distributors.
- Develop and implement policies to ensure the company's compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
About You
- Law degree from a recognised university and a current practising certificate.
- 1-4 years of experience in a similar role within the entertainment industry, preferably with a focus on production law.
- Strong understanding of the legal aspects of entertainment and factual production, including contract law, intellectual property rights, media law, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to draft and review complex legal agreements.
- A genuine interest in and passion for the entertainment industry.
