Through a partnership approach, we design flexible solutions, which can range from simple emergency call-out agreements to full PPM contracts, Design, Installation, and commissioning.

Summary of the apprenticeship:

Fire (VA) Audio system engineer working in the life safety field with Voice Alarms evacuation systems. You will also become familiar with the closely related fields of Public Address and music systems, exposed to all aspects including design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

We are a West Yorkshire based company operating across the UK, undertaking design, installation, and commissioning works as well as providing maintenance services. You will work largely within the life safety field of voice alarms and evacuation systems, often replacing fire alarms sounders. Installed using the same materials and techniques, your skills will be transferable. In addition to basic evacuation, these systems are also usable for public address and music solutions, and you will be trained and become skilled in these fields.

The hours are flexible and will be split between the office, where we undertake training, assembly, and programming of the equipment, and varying locations for installations or maintenance. The role entails occasional evening or night work, but this is not usually extensive. Being able to drive will be an advantage and will become essential.

Training and qualification levels:

  • Level 3 Fire Emergency and Security Systems Qualification September 2022 – Hopwood Hall College & University Centre (Middleton)
  • Training one day per week at college
  • Manufacturers training included

Prospects:

After completing the apprenticeship, you will progress within our company and start off as a Junior Service Engineer.

Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays

Company vehicle when qualified

Duration: 36 months

Working week:

  • Working in the office – 9 am to 5 pm (Monday to Thursday)
  • 9 am to 4 pm (Fridays)
  • Working on Job sites – various times

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) essential
