Thrive Shepton are looking to recruit for a Van Driver in Blandford Forum. We are seeking a reliable and efficient Delivery Driver to join our clients team and cover the existing team of drivers' holidays throughout the year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting Frozen Meals from our warehouse to various customer addresses, ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and attention to detail.
Main responsibilities are as follows:
- Be an ambassador for the company and always deliver with exceptional service.
- Must have excellent time keeping with the ability to manage time whilst delivering.
- Deliver to our customers according to route plan guidance from office and customer delivery time schedules.
- Team player and willing to support other team members to achieve a common goal of excellent customer service.
- Have the ability to undertake pre-shift inspection of your van, including oil, water, tyres and full visual safety inspection.
- Clean and refuel your van as and when needed - a clean presentation of the van is essential.
- Customer focused and willing to contact the office with any discrepancies or delays.
- Excellent Cash Handling experience, showing ability to cash up your round accurately at the end of each working day.
- Assist in warehouse duties as needed.
Essential qualifications/Personal Qualities:
- Desired experience of multi-drop delivery role, with a customer focus mind.
- Excellent knowledge of the Dorset area and surrounding villages.
- Own Transport; DBS is essential and will need to see a copy of it prior to employment.
- Basic car maintenance knowledge, i.e. van checks, able to change light bulbs on vehicles, top up fluids like brake and oil with confidence and change a tyre without the need for assistance.
- Flexible manner to cover emergencies.
- Team player with a can-do approach to supporting others.
- Max travel from DT11 7UZ - 30 mins.
- Full Clean UK Driving License for manual vehicle use.
- Physically fit.
- Numerate & Literate with secondary level education completed at GCSE level or equivalent.
- Good understanding of vehicles and maintenance checks.
- Minimum age 25 for insurance reasons.
Working Hours: Wednesday & Friday or Wednesday to Friday 0700 start. Must be flexible as sometimes due to matters out of their control you could be working a little later.
Pay rate: £12.50 per hour.
