This is an exciting opportunity where your expertise will play a critical role in identifying growth opportunities, tracking market movements, and driving high-impact business decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Become the go-to expert on market and competitor intelligence for Pearson’s education portfolio.
- Develop and maintain a robust view of Pearson’s target addressable market to support strategic planning and investment.
- Track and analyse competitor strategies, new partnerships, and market shifts—sharing key implications with executive stakeholders.
- Provide market insight and strategic support on major initiatives, partnerships, and cross-functional projects.
- Present clear, insightful recommendations to senior leaders and influence strategic direction.
- Collaborate closely with the wider Corporate Development team across M&A, venture investments, and partnerships.
- Maintain effective internal documentation and strategy tools to support execution and performance tracking.
About You:
You’re a strategic thinker and self-starter with a commercial mindset, equally comfortable zooming out to see the big picture and diving into data to drive action. You’re curious, energetic, and naturally collaborative, with the ability to operate across a matrixed global organisation.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience in strategy, management consulting, market intelligence, or corporate development.
- A passion for education and an interest in making an impact on a global scale.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach and strategic mindset.
- Financial literacy and experience building or evaluating business cases.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Confidence engaging with and influencing executive stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse complex data and turn insights into clear recommendations.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience from MBB/Big 4 consulting, strategy functions, or within multinational organisations.
- Experience in education, publishing, or digital services.
- Familiarity with tools like Python, Tableau, ChatGPT, Gemini, or other LLM tools.
- MBA or similar postgraduate qualification.
