Repairs, services, and maintains engine-driven generators and electric welding machines, ensuring a safe working environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Replaces defective parts and completes preventative maintenance.
  • Orders parts as required for repairs.
  • Inspects returned equipment for proper operation and damage.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Prepares and completes paperwork for machine repairs.
  • Occasionally services equipment and customers off-site.
  • Maintains communication with branch personnel.
  • Advises customers on suitable equipment for their projects.
  • Performs troubleshooting, calibrations on-site and off-site.
  • Possesses knowledge of computers, welding processes, equipment setup, gases, and wires.
  • Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: The physical demands are representative of those required to perform essential functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, taste, and smell. Frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision.

Work Environment: Characteristics include exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, electrical shock risks, high places, chemicals, weather conditions, and variable noise levels. Reasonable accommodations are available.

Education and/or Experience: Post-secondary education equivalent to one year of technical college is an asset. At least three years of related technical experience. Knowledge of positioning equipment and welding applications is an asset. Ability to make critical decisions and build relationships. Adaptability and effective communication skills are required.
