Due to rapid growth in the energy sector, we have an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled Solar PV Technical Design Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take the next step in their career and make a huge difference to one of the worldβs foremost energy suppliers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking the lead on designs including shading analysis, 3D modelling, electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules and connection diagrams, using AutoCAD software.
- Performing computer simulation of solar PV generation system performance or energy production to optimise efficiency.
- Reviewing and approving solar PV designs and recommending technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality or performance.
What we need from you:
- Must have 7 - 10 years experience in Solar PV design Engineering / design skills and experience with a proven track record on a variety of PV schemes; both rooftop and ground mount.
- Strong familiarity with PV manufacturers and components.
- Detailed design experience in small wiring, containment, as built drawings, scaffolding and fall arrest / work restraint.
- Working knowledge of standard and more advanced PC software tools (such as MS Office suite, AutoCAD, PV*SOL/PVSyst, modelling software, etc.) with the ability and willingness to learn new software tools.
- Substantial knowledge of current relevant legislation with regards to HSSE, construction and services installation.
- Thorough understanding, detailed experience and formal training in CDM responsibilities.
- Experience in DNO G99 Applications.
- Full UK/EU driving licence.
