We are looking for an experienced Overpayments Officer who has an excellent understanding of Housing Benefit Overpayment legislation and is proficient in using One Revs and Bens software (Academy) 20-25 hours a week.

Primary responsibilities will be:

  • Answering customer queries via telephone, email and letter.
  • Monitoring existing HB overpayments and contacting customers to set up/amend payment plans/chase missed instalments.
  • Checking DWP systems (Searchlight) to trace customers and maximise overpayment recovery.
  • Reviewing existing overpayments and making recommendations for write-offs.
  • Dealing with applications for Breathing Space.
  • Dealing with IVAs and DROs.
  • PDP referrals.
