The Highways Design Engineer will join the Highways and Infrastructure team and lead on the delivery of various highways design projects, including:
- Coordinating and cooperating with the Contractor throughout the design and build.
- Designing drainage systems, including culverts, storm water management, and erosion control measures.
- Reviewing and approving design drawings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements and standards.
- Utilizing design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools to create accurate and efficient designs.
- Assisting the delivery team to ensure project work is technically correct.
- Managing projects in accordance with Client requirements.
- Helping to support junior team members to produce exceptionally high-quality outputs.
As a Highways Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of highway projects. You will work closely with a team of engineers, technicians, and project managers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective designs that comply with relevant standards and regulations.
Key skills required include:
- Strong CAD skills (Civil 3D desirable).
- Familiarity with NEC form of contract and Document Control and Common Data Environment (CDE) software.
- Previous experience managing project objectives, timelines, and budgets, and preparing necessary documentation while liaising with clients and stakeholders.
