Technical Contract Manager – Building Services Engineering (BSE)

Location: London

Salary: £60,000-£65,000+ Benefits + Bonus

A leading M&E engineering consultancy based in London is seeking a talented Technical Contract Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a performance-based bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Management: Provide expert advisory services on Building Services Engineering systems in commercial and public sector properties.
  • Audits & Reports: Conduct audits, prepare condition reports, and advise on plant repairs and replacement programs.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, presenting findings and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Financial Management: Monitor financial performance, ensuring targets and costs are met.
  • Project Management: Assist in the development of works management systems and oversee contractor performance on maintenance and minor works.

Daily Duties:

Management Tasks:

  • Manage own workload and deliver in a timely and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate sound financial management and provide works planning and direction.
  • Assist with the growth of the business and promote the company's services to existing and potential clients.
  • Prepare and present reports to clients.

Technical Tasks:

  • Inspect and audit building services engineering systems to ensure efficient operation.
  • Carry out audits and condition reports on existing equipment, advising on repairs and replacement programs.
  • Review statutory examination reports and advise clients on compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor contractor performance on planned preventive maintenance and minor works.
  • Examine maintenance records and contractor invoices to ensure value for money.
  • Respond to ad-hoc enquiries, providing advice and cost estimates for service charge budgets.
  • Review progress on landlord or tenant works and their impact on property operations.
  • Arrange and attend meetings with clients, facilities managers, and contractors to review performance and additional works.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience: Wide experience in Building Services Engineering systems.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Hevacomp, and MS Project.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate professionally in writing and present findings to clients.
  • Mechanical or Electrical background/knowledge
