Job Description: Name: [Job Title] Main Purpose of the Job: Support production by working to enhance yield, investigate and solve production issues, and maintain equipment. Key Relationships: Reports to: Operations Manager Liaison with: Engineering Team, Sales & Marketing Team, Quality, and Production Key Tasks: Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities. Investigate production engineering problems, analyze root causes, and resolve issues. Evaluate production activities and make recommendations for improvements. Suggest new and/or alternative materials to maximize production. Manage and repair RMA’s and returns as required. Work with the quality function to investigate and document the cause of returns and report causes and remedial actions to ensure continuous improvement within Engineering, Sales & Marketing, and Operations. Collect product intelligence on reports of product faults and in-house production issues and make recommendations for remedial actions. Investigate production yield issues, suggest and implement countermeasures. Assist in maintaining test rigs. Develop and maintain assembly instructions. Locate and repair product faults. Perform modifications on production batches as required. Assist in building engineering prototypes. Support Sales & Marketing and Engineering as needed. Key Skills/Experience Required: Expertise in manual soldering of electronic components down to 0402/TQFP case size. Proficiency with hand tools. Skilled in using electronic test equipment such as Digital Multimeters (DMM), oscilloscopes, pulse generators, etc. A practical, proactive attitude towards solving PCB and mechanical assembly issues. Computer literacy; ability to create/modify macros in MS Excel is an advantage. Ability to read and understand mixed-signal (analog and digital) electronic circuit schematics. Ability to fault-find electronic circuits based on behavior and schematics. Qualifications in electronics such as ONC, City & Guilds, BTEC Level 3, or equivalent are advantageous.
