Are you a Structural Design Engineer looking for a new permanent position? Are you based near Glasgow? Belcan has an exciting opportunity at our Blantyre, Glasgow office for a Structural Design Engineer to join our Marine and Defence team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide liaison and solutions for customer structural problems related to lifting, rigging, and jigs for installation of equipment on board offshore vessels.
- Work in an Engineering Service environment, balancing technical responsibilities with commercial and project timescales.
- Produce 3D integrated CAD models and associated production output drawings that deliver the engineering design intent.
- Ensure the technical quality of engineering solutions provided and support offshore tasks as directed by the Team Leader.
Qualifications:
- We are looking for a candidate who is experienced in Marine engineering or a defence or safety-critical domain such as Automotive, Aerospace, Transportation, and Energy.
- The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of tools and techniques used by the Belcan team (e.g., Foran, Windchill, CAD software, and FEA software) and have an excellent knowledge of handling and lifting equipment, ideally in a marine environment.
- Structural hand calculation methods and techniques are a must.
