Licklist is a pioneering social platform integrated with a national directory of nightclubs, bars, and music festivals. We are looking for an Online Content Intern to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be involved in writing and editing news articles, guides, and reviews for the new Licklist version 2.0 desktop site and mobile app. Licklist will be attending over 100 festivals in the summer of 2020. We wonβt just be attending the festivals but will also be writing reviews and articles to promote them. Once the festival has successfully passed, we will also be needing to write post-festival reviews. This is a great opportunity to work alongside large festival organizations and to see yourself featured on our Licklist Festival Page.
We are looking for a candidate who is fun, enthusiastic, and has a confident personality. They must be proactive, committed, highly organized, with strong and creative writing skills. This should be complemented by their welcoming and professional manner towards venues and the general public. This is a fantastic opportunity to embark on an essential role in the marketing and promotion of a unique social media network site.
Responsibilities include:
- Researching and creating news content
- Interviewing people in a range of different circumstances
- Using relevant software to ensure news is kept up to date
- Promoting content via Facebook, Twitter, and other social media
- Networking and developing contacts
- Writing website and advertisement copy
Skills & Education:
- GCSE grade B or above in English literature, media studies, or alike.
- A level or degree in English literature, journalism, media, or similar (beneficial)
- Excellent grammar and spelling skills
- An eye for detail
- A good imagination and visual sense
- Capable of working to deadlines in a pressured environment.
- Demonstrate common sense when posed with socially sensitive issues and be able to identify any potential legal ramifications.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
This 3-month internship is expenses only and requires 3 - 4 articles per week (flexible hours can be agreed). Reasonable expenses will be covered. Requires the ability to work from home with a fast broadband connection and own laptop.
