At Finster AI, we’re building an AI-native platform for investment research. We were founded in late 2023 by Sid Jayakumar, who had previously spent 7 years at Google DeepMind, and brought together a team with experience across startups and the breadth of financial services and leading AI labs. Our team has worked at places including Google DeepMind, JP Morgan, Aviva and Meta AI and we’re rapidly expanding while working with early customers. We raised a Pre-Seed in December 2023 from Hoxton Ventures, early backers of Deliveroo and Darktrace and will be announcing our Seed raise shortly.
We’re building a well-rounded team with multi-disciplinary expertise across product, AI, finance, UI/UX, and engineering to help in our goal of building AI agents that can read, analyse and integrate disparate sources of financial and market data. We’re building for the distinct demands of institutional investors, with accuracy, reliability and privacy at the core of our product.

As a Frontend Engineer at Finster, you\’ll join an ambitious team dedicated to building a cutting-edge AI-driven financial research platform. Collaborating closely with Backend, AI, Design, and Product teams, you\’ll play a key role in crafting innovative features that seamlessly merge every team\’s vision into a harmonious and exceptional user experience. You\’ll strike the perfect balance between delivering high-quality code and embracing fail-fast practices to push boundaries and create functionality the industry has never seen before.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, develop, and optimise complex, scalable front-end systems using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Typescript, Next JS, Material UI, AG Grid etc.).
- Lead the integration of APIs (REST and gRPC) and optimise data fetching strategies for performance.
- Drive the implementation of responsive, accessible, and pixel-perfect UI components.
- Establish, review and uphold best practices for front-end development, testing, and code quality standards.
- Mentor more junior engineers, conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance.
- Diagnose and resolve performance, security, and compatibility issues.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, AI engineers and backend engineers to drive project execution.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advocate for the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
You may be a good fit if you:
- 3-5+ years experience in Javascript
- 3-5+ years experience in React JS
- 2-3+ years experience in Typescript
- 1-2+ years experience in Next JS
- Expertise in HTML5, CSS3 and accessibility
- Experienced with Data fetching and handling (REST / GraphQL / gRPC)
- Experienced with Testing, Performance and Security
- Experienced with state management
- Experience with Observability practices
- Experience with heavy/complex data applications and permissions structures
- Some system design experience
- Some project lead experience
It would be great if you also have:
- Understanding of Backend practices
- Understanding of CICD/DevOps
- Familiarity with design systems and UI/UX design principles.
- Experience in User Testing (e.g. A/B testing)
