The team is launching the Nurse led ADHD pathway for diagnosis and assessment and are looking to recruit two new Band 7 Specialist Paediatric Nurses to join the team. Candidates will be nurses with experience and knowledge of children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly ADHD. Responsibilities The post holder will: Assist in the delivery of high-quality nurse led ADHD clinics for diagnosis and treatment, working alongside other clinical colleagues. Work across professional and organisational boundaries. Work closely with Developmental Paediatricians to provide support for children and young people with diagnosed neurodevelopmental disabilities. Give advice and implement patient care in an area which requires specific clinical knowledge, skills, and experience. Detailed job description and main responsibilities KEY DUTIES The post holder will develop own and others knowledge and practice across professional and organisational boundaries. Use knowledge and skills to further educate and develop neurodevelopmental nursing skills. Demonstrate wisdom, expertise, maturity, experience, and critical judgement. Act as a leader for change with individuals, groups, and communities. Network locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. CLINICAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Professional Registration. Adhere to relevant Code of Practice of Professional body. Monitor quality of own practice and participate in quality improvement. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES Ensuring that accurate documentation and records are kept contemporaneously. TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES Educate others to develop and enhance their clinical skills. Support and educate patients, relatives, carers. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Budget responsibility in absence of Matron. RESEARCH & AUDIT Work with Clinical and Nursing Leads in relation to research and audit. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Registered Nurse with current NMC Registration Educated to Master’s level or equivalent experience Recognised Management & Leadership qualification, or willing to work towards V300 Nurse Prescribing, or willing to work towards Knowledge & Experience Essential criteria Advanced knowledge within Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and relevant practical experience Knowledge of clinical skills required to undertake the role Skills Essential criteria Excellent communication skills Effective organisational and record management skills Other Essential criteria Flexible and adaptable approach Ability to travel to various hospital locations.
